Who Told You That You Were Naked?- Lavish Day 2

Hello friend!

I’m so glad that you’re here today. Jesus is even more excited that you’re here. I can see him sitting and smiling over you. He’s so excited haha!

Today we’re going to be talking about vulnerability.

Why do you hide from God? Don’t pretend like you don’t know what I mean either.

Think about those places that you’ve locked up. Those rooms in your heart that you refuse to open up to Him. The rooms of hurt, the rooms of betrayal, the rooms of disappointment, the rooms of pain and the rooms of fear.

I know you pray, and you worship and you even cry and lift up holy hands. However there are “no go areas” in your heart that you simply refuse God access to. And guess what? God is a gentle man. He won’t come in except you ask him to.’

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice aHe simply read out the consequences of their actions- spiritual death and all the baggage that comes with that. I like to explain that God wasn't punishing Adam and Eve. He's a God of justice and fairness, He had to tell them what the consequences were. For example, if a man and a woman have pre-marital sex and get pregnant, that's not God them, it's simply the consequence of their action.nd open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
Revelation 3:20

Tonight, Jesus is knocking on that door. Are you going to let him in?

As humans, we like to deceive ourselves that we can hide things from the All seeing God.

The God Who Sees- Nicole C. Mullen

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the fruit they were not supposed to, they instantly realised they were naked and their first instinct was to hide. They did a terrible job of trying to cover their nakedness. I guess they were ashamed to face God in the state that they were. But guess what? God already knew.

'The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves. When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.” “Who told you that you were naked?” the Lord God asked. “Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?” '

Genesis 3:6-11

Once he found out, he told them the consequences of their actions- spiritual death and all the baggage that comes with that. I like to explain that God wasn’t punishing Adam and Eve. He’s a God of justice and fairness, He had to tell them what the consequences were. For example, if a man and a woman have premarital sex and get pregnant, that’s not God punishing them, it’s simply the consequence of their action.

'And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife. '

Genesis 3:21

After reading the consequences, God didn’t leave them to fend for themselves away from His presence. He made clothes for them. He clothed them and helped them. Even though the consequences came into effect and man became spiritually dead and had to live away from the presence of God, God kicked in a bigger plan. One that would see Him shed his own blood for the redemption of the human race.

God is so kind. He didn’t just leave them naked. He clothed them, and then thousands of years later He shed His own blood to fix the problem they created. He saved man from the consequence of his actions and gave His own life up in the process. No wonder David wondered:

'When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place— what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority— '

Psalms 8:3-6

So dear reader, who told you that you were naked? Who accused you and told you that God doesn’t want to see you in the state that you are or hear from you? Who lied to you that the Father is angry with you? Who told you that you’re too far gone and God can’t forgive you? Who told you that God does not see your pain?

'O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights? Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. '

Isaiah 40:27-28

I feel specifically led to speak to people reading this who have experienced sexual assault. God wants you to let him into your pain so he can heal your heart. Please vent, cry, be angry, be upset and ask where he was, just don’t shut him out of your heart. Yes God is speaking to YOU. He wants to restore the love relationship you both shared and bring healing to your heart. I know it hurts. Jesus feels your pain acutely. He wants to heal your heart please let him in.

Whatever it is, sin, pain, hurt, Jesus is able to fix it. However you have to be vulnerable with Him. Not because he doesn’t know but he wants you to choose to express yourself to Him.

Jesus is inviting you to tell him everything tonight. All you have to do is open your mouth and speak. Just like you’d talk to a friend. And if you don’t have the words to speak you can just cry. It’s okay. Your Father is here for you.

'And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. '

Romans 8:26-27
I Am Your Father- Harvest

I want you to know that I love you a lot. The depths of my love for you are unfathomable. You can never reach the ends of it and nothing you do can separate you from it. I have sealed our love with my own blood. My love for you is the most powerful force in the world. Nothing can make me stop loving you my child.

Jesus
'What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” ) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.'

Forgiveness is the first step to freedom my beloved. It’s okay to let it go. Forgive them.

Jesus

Dear reader, the goal is to be naked and not ashamed. Please lay down everything that is stopping you from being naked. God wants you.
