We Give Thanks – Day 4

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness.- Lamentations 3:22-23

Today we are going to be expressing gratitude to God for his sure mercies and unfailing compassion. Please play the song below and meditate on the lyrics.
Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. Lamentations 3:22 The Lord's mercy preserves us.

How beautiful is it, that we can always trust God to show us mercy. How wonderful it is to know that the Lord’s mood doesn’t change and because of Christ’s sacrifice we can receive God’s eternal mercy.

You can never run out of God’s mercy because like the sun, His mercies are new every morning. Dear reader, it is the Lord’s mercy that has preserved you thus far. It is unmerited, and undeserved. It is a free gift that he so graciously gives to us. You can confidently approach God, knowing that He is always, always merciful.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.- Hebrews 4:16

You can rest in his mercy.

God is not angry with you. He’s not looking at you and scrutinising all your faults. He wants to help you. Apart from me you can do NOTHING. As humans it’s so easy to hyperfixate on our flaws and shortcomings. God is never surprised by them. He has a way of weaving them into his story if you let him. Scripture is filled with imperfect men and women who collided with a perfect God and experienced beautiful ongoing transformation throughout their lifetime God knows everything there is to know about you, and still he loves you completely. This is what should leave you undone – you are fully known and fully loved. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Even if you do something wrong or you’re doing something wrong, if you turn to God he will kiss you with mercy always. His steadfast love never ceases, His mercies never come to an end. How beautiful. Oh you will fail many many times. But LOVE never fails. God is love. His love for you will never fail. It is patient. It is kind. It is not angry. Breathe.
