How sweet are Your words to my taste— sweeter than honey in my mouth! I gain understanding from Your precepts; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. -Psalms 119:105
The word of God is life. It gives life to our spirits and empowers us to live the lives that God has destined us to live.
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”- Matthew 4:4
The word of God enables us to live as true sons of God.
This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in all you do.- Joshua 1:9
The word of God is a treasure trove of wisdom.
The Law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making wise the simple. Jesus is the living word! In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.- John 1:1-3
How blessed are we to have the privilege of access to the word of God? Men like William Tyndale laid down their lives so that the common man could have access to the scriptures.
Don’t take that privilege for granted. Read the word of God. Rejoice over it. Do what it says.
My son, pay attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not lose sight of them; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to the whole body.
