We Give Thanks- Day 13

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.- Colossians 3:16
Hosanna- Hillsong

According to YouVersion, Hosanna is a transliteration of the Hebrew “Hosia-na” meaning save, we pray or save now which became a shout of praise.

Upon Jesus entrance into Jerusalem, the people sang

The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed were shouting: “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”- Matthew 21:9

The phrase also echoes the song of the angels in Luke 2:14

And suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”

He was praised at His birth, and on his way to the cross, the people sang Hosanna!

You can praise Him today too, because He is worthy of praise always.

Thanksgiving prompt: Sing Hosanna to Him! Praise His Holy name. He is good and worthy of praise always.

I advice that you journal your thanksgiving, it will help you engage in it more consciously, and in 50 days, you will have a record of gratitude. You can play the song below as you journal.

As always, please share with a friend!
