What if you no longer had to exert yourself trying to love God? What if you chose to rest in His love instead?
I want you to forget about trying to meet up to his expectations and just rest in His love instead?
I love being in the water because I’m able to relax and connect with Jesus deeply. One of my favourite things to do is to simply relax and float on my back. I don’t have to do anything, but simply let the currents carry me. That’s how our relationship with God is supposed to be. It’s not completely effortless, but there should be ease. You should enjoy it. You shouldn’t be tense and agitated all the time. If you are, then it’s a sign that you need to rest in his love.
Think about the eagle flying in the wind. It’s wings spread out. It has no need to flap because the wind powers its flight.
'He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.' Isaiah 40:29-31
What if the key to strength is just resting in God and letting Him carry you when you’re too tired to carry on?
I know the year has been tough for a lot of people in different respects. God wants you to find strength in His love today. I’m not promising that the circumstances will change but I am assuring that when you rest in His love you will feel much better. God already loves you. You just need to accept it, exhale, and rest in it. He is too faithful to let you crash and burn. You can trust His love. You can’t be the exception to His gracious lavish love.
Please tell Jesus everything and rest in His love. How? The same way you sink into bed after a long day or crash into a soft couch. You just stop striving and let yourself go. Tell Him everything, He’s waiting. Let the lyrics of the songs below speak to you. Sing them, pray them.
