God’s Strength Is Perfected In Your Weakness- Lavish Day 10

Before we start, God wants you to know that He loves you very much. I want you to listen to the song below and hear every lyric. Hear the lyrics and soak them in. Let them penetrate your very being.

I Am Loved- Naomi Raine

Don’t you hate being weak? Needing help? Wanting to do something and not being able to?

I want you to think back to the moment where you vowed that you’d try to do everything by yourself to ensure that you don’t need help from anybody and prove that you’re not weak at all.

It’s so incredible how we put up walls early in life to keep ourselves from being hurt by human beings and those walls end up keeping God out too.

If you’re going to grow in God, you must always be ready to be weak . You must be ready to be vulnerable.

You see, God already knows everything that we think that we’re hiding from him. And he’s not a human being. He’s not going to use your weaknesses against you.

God is glorified in your weakness. The weakness you’re ashamed of is an avenue for His strength to shine through. Think about Moses who was a stammerer yet used by God to deliver a whole nation. He had to stand before a King and speak. I know his brother was there with him and spoke on his behalf him speak. But I imagine that there were points where Moses too had to speak. After all Pharaoh knew him personally.

'But Moses pleaded with the Lord , “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord ? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.” ' Exodus 4:10-12

God’s assurance to Moses was that He would be with him. That’s the same thing God is saying to you today. It does not matter what your weaknesses are, what your inconsistencies are, the skills you lack, or your limitations. Because He is with you, His strength will shine through.

I don’t have a content calendar for this newsletter or a list of topics. Every single day, God gives me the topics, the songs and the words. I am dependent on Him. I don’t trust myself to show up here and write something profound. I trust His Spirit to tell me what to say and how to say it.

Whatever you think your limitations are or whatever you’re struggling with, are just areas for God’s strength to be expressed. Paul captured it best:

'Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. '

2 Corinthians 12:8-10

Whatever God is asking you to do, obey Him. He will supply everything you need. Look to Him and not yourself.

Please play the song below and have a very honest conversation with God about your weaknesses. Even the ones that you’re ashamed of/ think you should have grown past. Tell him everything and receive His strength in exchange. This is how He has designed us to live- not to be strong on our own, but to draw strength from Him.

I’ll never forget something God told me a few years ago. He said, in the world, the older a child grows the less dependent they become on their parents. In my Kingdom, it’s the opposite. The older you grow in me, the more dependent you should be. I just think that’s so profound. You don’t have to be a big boy or girl with Jesus. He wants your dependency. He is prepared for it. Run to Him!
